The picture: a millionaire with a loft in SOHO. It’s my dream, and I can splurge if I want to. I’m a writer, and like most writers, I’m also a reader. I love to read about fashion, design, people and the places where it all happens.

I’ve also had a love of the good old NYC since I was young. The more I read about fashion, the more in love I am with New York. It’s a vicious cycle. Lately, I’ve been slightly more obsessed with the clothes and the art of being fashionable. It is visual art in motion, an attitude. The outfit you choose in the morning can make or break your entire day. I’m also on a budget, the kind of budget where the extra all goes into savings. Did I mention that being grown-up is the pits?

I am therefore deprived of shopping. This kind of repression leads to obsessing, excessive day dreaming and a complete loss of one’s grasp on reality. So my borderline mental breakdown has lead me into thinking what would my wardrobe look like if the price tag wasn’t an issue.

Could you imagine a closet full of De La Renta gowns? There would definitely be a closet full of Manolo’s, Jimmy Choo’s, a sprinkle of Loubos and an array of additional soul soothing stilettos. I took the practical thought process too and decided I couldn’t wear a ball gown to brunch so, of course, I would need to have some fabulous Tibi dresses, and some great basics from Theory, some classy pieces from Kate Spade are a must to satisfy my inner Charlotte York, some DVF and Shoshanna.

As if temporarily losing my mind wasn’t bad enough, I decided to look on all my favorite websites like Saks and Neiman’s to make sure I wasn’t leaving anyone out. This is why I felt the need to share this very sad confession with others, I am hoping for a cathartic release of sorts. So who do you day dream about wearing? I know I’m not the only one!
