Cashews are such a great snack, satisfying the crunchy craving we all sometimes get. In small portions, they are very nutritious providing the good fats needed in every diet to maintain a strong metabolism and to keep your heart healthy.

Instead of eating plain cashews, which can get old, try switching it up by roasting and seasoning the nuts. For the sake of practicality, the nuts can be toasted in the toaster oven, alleviating the inconvenience of heating up the huge oven. You can alter this recipe easily, adjusting the seasonings to create a new flavor profile.

Spicy Roasted Cashews
1 pound whole raw cashews
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped rosemary    
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon melted butter

Preheat the toaster oven to 375°F. Place the cashews on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 15-17 minutes. While the cashews are in the oven, combine the rosemary and spices then add the melted butter. Remove the cashews from the oven and toss with the spiced butter. Allow to cool before serving.
